The Islands Marketplace Team

The Islands Marketplace Free Classified Ad Magazine was created in 2006, by graphic designer Sandi Poystila. The first issue was printed on Saltspring Island on Friday, October 13, 2006.

Andrew Poystila delivers the magazine on and off island, as well as helps with the website.

Teresa Forbes joined the Marketplace Team as our senior sales representative in March 2008. Teresa has helped in the advertising sales department as well as in magazine delivery and brainstorming some great ideas.

Delivered and distributed free every second Friday, the magazine manages its expenses with paid commercial advertisers.

The Islands Marketplace also offers more than just advertising, namely a calendar of events, horoscope, photos, contests, stories, crossword puzzle and/or word search. Every issue supports a non-profit organization with a free display ad listing. Contact us for details.

Free classified advertising for private party citizens benefits everyone, including the environment. The feedback has been very positive aas locals embrace the new community service.

Now in it's third year of print, The Islands Marketplace continues to offer exciting stories. new columns and contests and much more.
