Kofi Annan served as United Nations Secretary-General from 1997 to 2006. The highest-ranking person in the UN, the Secretary-General is widely regarded as a spokesperson for humanity.
The Salt Spring Forum’s upcoming guest, Michael Doyle, was Kofi Annan’s most important advisor from 2001 to 2003, holding the title of Assistant Secretary-General. Doyle joins the Forum for a wide-ranging discussion of the major issues facing the international community at this time.
From climate change to civil conflicts, refugees and peacekeeping, Doyle brings a unique combination of hands-on experience and big-picture thinking. Doyle, now a professor at Columbia Law School, is also a renowned scholar of international law and global constitutionalism.
