Community drop-offs for invasive plants on May 15, and May 30

Please mark your calendars with these upcoming invasive plant drop-offs.

Bring your cut broom, ivy, holly and blackberry to the Community Gospel Chapel on Saturday, May 15, where these plants will be removed by Fisher Road Recycling to be composted. Gorse and spurge laurel can not be accepted at this event.

Gorse is welcome at the Sunday, May 30 drop-off at Fulford hall where it will be chipped along with the broom. Please remove all soil and stones from the plant roots. Blackberry is not accepted at this event because it is so difficult to handle.

Volunteers including firefighters will be on hand to help unload your plants. Donations will be requested to cover disposal costs. Events run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with Covid health precautions in place. For more info, please call 537-0880.
