The GISS Student Council in partnership with The Salt Spring Forum welcomes internationally successful 31-year old climate journalist/author Geoff Dembicki to the Gulf Islands Secondary School to discuss how a new generation is fighting climate change.

Dembicki is the author of the new book ‘Are We Screwed? How a New Generation is Fighting to Survive Climate Change’, which could be one of the most important books about climate change ever written.

He has learned that millions of youth want to radically change the world. In fact, youth are now leading the resistance to the politicians and CEOs who are steering our planet towards disaster.

Dembicki is the Bill McKibben of his generation, combining a deep understanding of climate science with a rare ability to explain and motivate people into action rather than despair. His work appears in the New York Times, Vice, Foreign Policy and the Guardian.

Tickets are available at Salt Spring Books and through Eventbrite at https://geoff-dembicki-giss.eventbrite.ca/ $15 – 2018 Forum Members; $20 – General Public. (Students and low-income residents contact saltspringforum@gmail.com.)
